"The love of food is the most sincere love there is," said George Bernard Shaw. Maybe that's why UX designers can never run out of ideas when it comes to food and cooking. This case study from the Tubik team showcases the creative process of the app Tasty Burger's interaction design, which is a mobile app for ordering food.

MavericksMedia being the ottawa web design company is super excited to develop our client’s web design, and here is a reason why.

Process

The design of a food ordering app must take into account the many steps and intuitive navigation that users will need to swiftly place and receive their orders in a variety of contexts. With art direction from Ernest Asanov and Vladyslav Taran, Tubik UI designer Anton Morozov set out to create a juicy and intuitive user interface for the Tasty Burger app. Users can choose from a standard burger option or personalize it by adding or removing ingredients thanks to its expanded functionality.

Burger Card: A Wide Range of Selections

Pick Out Your Burger

On the menu, you can see the current prices and deals that the service or restaurant is offering. Product images and simple information about ingredients and weight are available to users. Price and calls to action are highlighted with color accents for quick scanning. Furthermore, the user can tailor the search to their needs and locate a desired position more quickly using the filter system located at the top of the screen.

After selecting an item from the inventory, customers can view its main features, including a large photo, price, and weight, as well as a call-to-action button that allows them to add the item to their cart. It adds an emotional and memorable touch to the visual presentation, making people think of the burger right away. Also, the layout is nice; users who buy this position often or who aren't fussy about details will appreciate that the screen doesn't bore them with ingredient details.

Make it your own Burger

If you're picky about what goes into your burger or want to personalize it, click the "Ingredients" tab at the bottom of the page. Simply by lifting it up, they can see the burger's contents listed in tabs labeled "Vegetables," "Meat," "Sauce," "Topping," and so on. The visual performance of the list is enhanced by the inclusion of photos of all ingredients in the interface. Simply tapping the heart icon in the top right corner allows users to save the item to favorites at any point during their interaction with this screen. A yellow dot on the cart icon serves as a quick reminder that it isn't empty, which is another important UX affordance.

Regarding the app's color scheme, the designer experimented with background contrast: zones for reading copy, viewing, and manipulating list positions are shown on a light background to ensure high readability. The graphics still look classy and sophisticated thanks to the dark background that the tab bar and photo content use. The designer also meticulously constructed a balanced and scannable visual hierarchy to facilitate easy screen scanning and rapid interactions. Everyone has to be crystal clear in a matter of seconds; the last thing you want is for hungry people to spend hours trying to figure out how your app works.

Make Your Own Burger

The meals of the fixed formulation are typically featured in a typical restaurant or cafe food ordering app. The Tasty Burger app goes above and beyond by letting users build their own burgers using the ingredients they have on hand, in addition to letting them modify the current offers by adding or removing ingredients. As users add ingredients, they can observe the relative price change.

Purchase and shipment

After selecting an item, customers have the option to have it delivered to their specified address or to pick it up at the restaurant. In addition, many different ways of payment are offered.

Web Page

An alluring and memorable animation serves as the foundation of the app's landing page. A tantalizing image of a freshly cooked burger sets the scene and evokes positive emotions.

For the Tubik design team, working on the Tasty Burger app was a thrilling creative challenge. The goal was to expand the possibilities of food delivery apps with more features, better usability, and an appetizing look.
