Its back to another football league blog for me, this time I will be concentrating on Southampton, as they try to escape from the League 1 relegation zone, after a points deduction.Southampton like many other former Premier League teams, were relegated to League 1 last season, as Norwich and Charlton also followed them. For Southampton they had to deal, with a ten point deduction, which Leeds United were able to succumb a couple of seasons ago. It proved to be a tough start for Southampton, however under Alan Pardew they seem to be making good ground in League 1 now, and hopefully by Saturday they will be out of the Brandon Tanev Women Jersey relegation zone for the first time this season.Even with a huge points deduction, hanging overtheir heads, Southampton have now reached eleven points, and maybe if their good form continues, they can creep into a play-off place come the end of the season.The Saints however didnt have the best start to the League 1 season. The first month of the 09/10 campaign,Southampton failed to win a single game in the League. They suffered a heavy lo s, to a very good Huddersfield side; alsothey were also beaten by Swindon Town. At the end of August,the Saints shouldhave picked up their first win in the league, but a last gasp penalty, from Stockports Carl Baker, saw the Saints drop what should of been three points.The start of September was nothing to cheer about aswell, with draws against Colchesterand Charlton. That win only proved to be a lucky one, as Southampton were toiled by yetanother last gasp goal, this time at home against Bristol Rovers.However thisOctober, has been the turning point for Southampton and manager Alan Pardew. The club are unbeaten so far this month, as the two new signings, of Papa Waigo and David Connolly have bothbeen hitting the net consistently this month.Also thewins were nowhere near a boring 1-0, but 3-1 and 4-1 in favour of the Saints. A great start to October was imminent and they got their reward as they thrashed Gillingham 4-1, thanks to goals from Rickie Lambert, Papa Waigo and two from youngster Adam Lallana.From there things have gone even more perfect, as allof the last Derek Grant Jersey three results for Southampton have all finished 3-1 in favour of Pardews boys. Firstly Adam Lallanas doublesilenced Southend, then Oldham were spanked 3-1 by the Saints, as David Connolly was among the scorers,the goal of which was his first for the club. Also apart from managerAlan Pardew, Southampton has also got manyaspects which I for one are impre sed with.The Saints have a very big squad full ofdecent players, who can cut it at league 1 level. Unlike last season, they have many options in all positions of the pitch. Lookingat the Southampton squad, it has many cla s players involved in it. As I have mentioned, Adam Lallana is one of the best talents in theEnglish game, aswell as new signing Rickie Lambert, who is joint top scorer with Lallana on eight goals.From my point of view Southampton have also got the best captain in the league, Kelvin Davis has been so loyal toThe Saints this season, ashe could of well moved to the Premier Ryan Reaves Men Jersey League, in the summer transfer window. He is a fantasticgoalkeeper and a fantastic captain for Southampton.Unlike last season the defence also looks strong, new signings Radhi Jaidi, Graeme Murty and Dan Hardingadd a very good mixture of talent to the back four. The Saints also have a very goodblend of youngtalent in the side,as it hashandfulofupcoming starssuch asAdam Lallana, Morgan Schneiderlin and Lloyd James. Lastly the strikers are scoring goals, League 1 hitman Rickie Lambert, David Connolly and Papa Waigo are allhitting the net for Southampton.
